Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data EV Charger Directory collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for the information described here.
Information we collect
You can browse most of the site without giving us any personal data. We only collect personal data you choose to send us — for example your name, email address and message when you use our contact form, or your name and review text when you submit a review.
Like most websites, our servers and hosting provider also process limited technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
Cookies, analytics and advertising status
We use a small amount of essential local storage to remember your cookie choices. Google Analytics 4 only loads after you consent to analytics. It helps us understand aggregated use of the site; Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled, and we do not send names, email addresses or form contents to Analytics.
Analytics event data is configured to be retained for 14 months. Google AdSense and advertising are currently disabled. The current consent banner therefore offers essential storage and optional analytics only; it does not show an advertising category.
If AdSense is approved and enabled later, we will first add a separate advertising choice. AdSense and advertising storage will not load before that choice is presented and consent is given.
You can withdraw or change your analytics choice at any time with the persistent Cookie preferences control in the footer. It reopens the consent settings without requiring you to delete site data.
How we use your data
We use the data you submit to respond to your enquiries, to handle review submissions, and to operate and secure the website. Where you consent, we use aggregated analytics to improve pages. We do not currently use your data to serve advertising because AdSense is disabled.
We do not sell your personal data.
Legal basis
Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we rely on your consent for optional analytics, on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for technical data, and on your consent or our legitimate interest in handling messages and reviews you choose to send. No advertising-cookie processing is active; a separate consent choice would be required before it could be enabled.
Data retention
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Reviews that are approved and published remain available while the listing exists. Google Analytics event data is retained for 14 months. You can ask us to remove a review or message you submitted at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
